Controversial Piccadilly Circus Comes to Town
Performances at the Lake County Fairgrounds are scheduled for 4:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday.
The Piccadilly Circus is coming to town, and not everyone thinks it's just good fun.
PETA, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, has lodged complaints with the USDA alleging Piccadilly Circus handlers had abused animals, reported the Lake County Journal. The circus has denied the allegations.
Last year, the USDA issued the circus a warning about how animals should be cared for in light of an incident in which a zebra died, reported the Daily Herald.
