Driver Charged With DUI In Serious Oct. 2018 Lake Villa Crash
Investigation determined the man was driving under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash, the sheriff's office said.

LAKE COUNTY, IL — The Lake County Sheriff's Office said the driver of the vehicle involved in an October 2018 crash was arrested last month on a warrant for charges of driving under the influence as the result of an investigation by Lake County Sheriff's Traffic Investigators. The investigation determined 44-year-old Alden R. Eggleston, of the 100 block of Vassallo Lane, Union Grove, Wisconsin, was driving under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash, the sheriff's office said, adding that investigators also determined his blood alcohol level was more than three times the legal limit.
The sheriff's office said they were dispatched to the 39200 block of Route 45 in Lake Villa Township for a traffic crash with injuries during the early morning of Oct. 13. That's where the sheriff's office said deputies located a 2003 Dodge Caravan with extensive damage, after a man (now identified as Eggleston) was driving south on Route 45 north of West Grass Lake Road, when the vehicle crossed into the northbound lanes of traffic, drove off the east side of the roadway and into a ditch.
The Dodge rolled over and Eggleston was ejected. He was taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville with serious injuries.
