GNHS Marching Knights' 'Sinister' Show Sweeps Competition
The marching band competed at the Renegade Regiment Musicfest.
Under the direction of Candace Edstrand, Laura Bertermann, Dan Betermann and Michelle Ruotolo, the Grayslake North High School (GNHS) Marching Knights swept the competition on Oct. 20 at the Renegade Regiment Musicfest in Sandwich.
In Class AAA competition, the Marching Knights earned first place for their field show, entitled βSinister,β as well as Best Drumline and Best Auxiliary (color guard). Their outstanding performance, which included various ominous-themed music titles, also earned them the coveted Grand Champion title, beating out 15 other bands from throughout northeastern Illinois.
