GRAYSLAKE, IL — Mark your calendar for the Graylsake Art Alliance's annual MayFest in Grayslake, which will be held on May 3.
The event will run from 12 to 4 p.m. at the Grayslake Heritage Center & Museum, 164 Hawley Street, Graylsake. Here's more information from the Grayslake Art Alliance regarding the upcoming festival:
MayFest will feature fine art, books, giftable art pieces and more for sale from Grayslake Arts Alliance members, author readings, live music from Chapin Jazz X-tet and The Background Memory, karaoke by Beer Bazaar Bottle Shop & Taproom, music on vinyl presented by Andy’s Records, and more indoors and outdoors at the Grayslake Heritage Center & Museum.
Indoors: Find a wide selection of fine art, books and more for sale.
Outdoors: For the younger at heart, visit the tent to create a film cell to take home. The Grayslake Arts Alliance (GAA) will have clear film with prints of Star Wars figures, Cartoon Figures, and more for children to paint with acrylics. The GAA will also have matte kits available for children to take home for framing. Circus Kazoo will have their "petting zoo" of circus equipment available for curious minds to try out in the side parking area. Chalk Art by Sam the Jam will be located in the back parking lot; come out and practice for next year's big chalk mural on the street!
Sound services will be provided by Doppler Audio.
The GAA invites all to enjoy an afternoon of art through music, author readings, karaoke and more!
A portion of all sales go back to the GAA’s mission of promoting the arts in Grayslake and our surrounding community through education, participation, & development.
