Grayslake Family Opens New Pumpkin Farm
On Sept. 21, Tobie Family Farm opened at 22070 W. Peterson Road in Grayslake.

GRAYSLAKE, IL — Matt and Brandy Tobie had no farming experience when they purchased a historic 20-acre property, the location of a 161-year-old farm in Grayslake, this past winter and began learning everything they needed to open a pumpkin farm.
In recent weeks, all their hard work has come to fruition. On Sept. 21, Tobie Family Farm opened at 22070 W. Peterson Road in Grayslake, according to the Daily Herald.
The couple, who has three children under the age of 8 years old, owns a restoration business as well and is now starting to work to restore a century-old barn and house on the property, which the family plans to move into.
