Grayslake High Schools Ranked Among Top 100 In State

ILLINOIS — Several local high schools have been ranked among the best schools in the state by Niche, including Grayslake Central and Grayslake North high schools.

Niche's 2022 rankings factored in academic and student life data from thousands of schools across the country. The most important factor was academics, but Niche also looked at culture and diversity, teachers, clubs and activities, sports, and more. You can read more about Niche's methodology here.

Grayslake Central High School received an 46th place ranking in Illinois and Grayslake North High School received a ranking of 71.

The top-ranked public high school in the country was The Davidson Academy, located in Reno, Nevada. The best public high school in Illinois was Payton College Prep in Chicago, which was ranked No. 6 nationally, followed by Northside College Prep, which came in at No. 7.

Vernon Hills was among 12 Illinois public schools that made it into the top 100 best schools in the nation. Many more were listed among the best in Illinois. Here are the top 50 schools in the state as ranked by Niche:
