GRAYSLAKE, IL — A Grayslake teen who was allegedly under the influence of cannabinoids and opiates when he tried to get into a police squad car and disarm the officer — telling him "you're dead, boy" — now faces charges in Lake County Circuit Court.
Jack R. Suvanich, 19, is charged with attempted disarming of a peace officer, aggravated battery of a peace officer and resisting a peace officer causing injury, all of which are felonies, in connection with the June 15 incident. He was taken into custody on a warrant and appeared for a detention hearing last month, according to the Lake & McHenry County Scanner.
Police were called to his home in the 1000 block of Shooting Star Road for a medical call after he reportedly had two seizures. Lake County Assistant State’s Attorney Michael Theis said when police arrived, Suvanich tried to get into the officer's locked police car, talked over the officer and made racial slurs while also saying, "I could kill," according to the news report.
