Davie​s, Waldenstrom, Vogel Elected To Grayslake Village Board

Five candidates battled for three open seats on the Grayslake Village Board this election.

GRAYSLAKE, IL — It appears two incumbents are on track to be re-elected to the Grayslake Village Board. Meanwhile, a former Grayslake Village Board member is poised to earn his seat back following Tuesday's election.

With 18 of 18 precincts reporting, incumbent Elizabeth Davies led the Grayslake Village Board race with 1,940 votes. Incumbent Kevin Waldenstrom followed her with 1,358 votes.

Meanwhile, Shawn Vogel, who served on the board from 2005 to 2021, had 1,354 votes, according to unofficial results, which do not include provisional and late-arriving vote tallies.

Waldenstrom has served on the village board since 2009, and Davies was first elected as a trustee in 2014.

Meanwhile, newcomers Kathleen Wasik and Rachel Rezek trailed in the race, according to unofficial vote totals. Wasik had 1,107 votes and Rezek had 866 votes. The vote tallies Tuesday night did not include provisional or late-arriving votes.

Pradip Sahu ran unopposed for a two-year unexpired trustee position. Sahu was appointed to the village board last year after former trustee, Adam Shores, stepped down from his post.
