Grayslake Weekend: Plant Sales, Train Days and More!

What's going on this weekend?

Are you looking for something to do in Grayslake this weekend?

We've put together a list of some events taking place in and around town that you can check out.

Choo Choo!

Lambs Farm will host their annual Train Days from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 18 and 19. Guests can operate model trains free of charge. There will also be crafts, activities and a visit from the Budweiser Clydesdales! The Clydesdales are slated to parade around Lambs Farm at 1 p.m. May 18.

Farm Connections

Prairie Crossing Farm will host its Farm Connections Open House from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 18. Stop by and purchase organic plants, meet the farmers, visit the chickens and baby goats, and support local farmers.

Plant Sales

Still need to buy some plants? There are a number of plant sales taking place this weekend. Take a look:

  • The Lake County Master Gardeners will hold their annual plant sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 18 at the University of Illinois Extension, 100 S. Highway 45, Grayslake. The sale will feature perennials and home-grown vegetable plants. See the full list here.   
  • The Grayslake Greenery Garden Club's sale will take place from 8 a.m. to noon May 18 at the corner of Center Street and Seymour Avenue in downtown Grayslake. The sale will feature local perennials, annuals and more. 
  • Conserve Lake County has plant sales planned for 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the following days: May 17-19; May 24-26; May 31 and June 1-2; and June 7-9. The sale will be held at the organization's Almond Marsh office, 32492 N. Almond Road, Grayslake.  


Farmers Market

The Grayslake Farmers Market spring market continues on Saturdays through May 25. The market takes place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Congratulations, Grads!

Grayslake Central and Grayslake North will both hold their graduation ceremonies at 1 p.m. May 19. The ceremonies will be held at the schools.
