Lake County Gang Member Charged With Drug Possession: Sheriff
The Lake County Sheriff's Office said Round Lake Beach man had cocaine and ecstasy in his possession during traffic stop.

LAKE COUNTY, IL — Members of the Lake County Sheriff's Office Gang Task Force arrested a Round Lake Beach man Tuesday during a traffic stop, who the sheriff's office said is a documented street gang member. The sheriff's office said at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, task force detectives conducted a traffic stop near North Fairfield Road and Lake Shore Drive in Round Lake Heights on a vehicle driven by 22-year-old Angel A. Castro, of the 1200 block of Barberry Lane.
According to the sheriff's office, detectives arrested Castro when they learned he didn't have a driver's license, in addition to finding him in possession of cocaine and ecstasy.
Castro was arrested and transported to the Lake County Jail where he's being held on $75,000 bond, the sheriff's office said. He was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver (Ecstasy), unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver (Cocaine), unlawful possession of a controlled substance (Ecstasy), and unlawful possession of a controlled substance (Cocaine) - all felonies.

“Like I’ve said before, I am making it a priority to identify and arrest drug pushers in our communities," Sheriff John Idleburg said, in a release. "The primary responsibility of the Lake County Sheriff’s Gang Task Force is to intercept these poisons before they make it into the hands of others, while holding drug pushers accountable. Criminal gang activity and illegal drugs have no place here in Lake County.”
Castro's next court date is scheduled for 1:30 p.m., March 13.
