Lawyer Had 'Concerning' Conversations Before Disappearing: Police

Sheriff Spokesman Sgt. Covelli​ reported that some people Boches contacted prior to disappearing felt the conversations were 'concerning.'

LAKE COUNTY, IL — Detectives with the Lake County Sheriff's office have learned a missing Waukegan attorney made contact with friends and people he knew around the time he went missing last week, the sheriff's office confirmed to Patch. The sheriff's office continues investigating the disappearance of Barry Boches, 65, from the 41600 block of North Pedersen Drive South in unincorporated Antioch, who was reported missing by a relative Wednesday. Sheriff’s detectives have interviewed members of Boches' family, his friends and others he knows, Lake County Sheriff Spokesman Sgt. Christopher Covelli said, adding that some people Boches contacted felt the conversations were “concerning."

When asked about the investigation, Covelli confirmed to Patch that the criminal defense lawyer's disappearance has unusual characteristics.

Boches was last seen at 7 a.m. on March 24, and the last person to have contact with Boches was at 11:55 p.m. Tuesday, by telephone, the sheriff's office said.

Boches car was found on a side street in Waukegan, but he was not in or around it, according to the sheriff's office. His law office is located in the 400 block of Grand Avenue in Waukegan, the sheriff's office said.

Authorities are asking for the community's help in finding Boches, who is described as being five feet, eight inches tall, weighing 190 pounds, and has hazel-colored eyes and brown hair, according to the sheriff's office.

He was last seen wearing blue jeans and a black hooded sweatshirt with red lettering.
