Leaf Vacuuming Program Underway in Grayslake

The leaves are falling from the trees, blanketing the ground. If you're anxious to get rid of those leaves, the village of Grayslake can help.

Grayslake's leaf vacuuming program began Oct. 21 and is running for six weeks. 

The village offered these guidelines for the program on its website:

• Place leaves into piles, unbagged, before 6 a.m. on the scheduled service day (see map above).
• Please place leaf piles between the edge of street and sidewalk. In areas without a sidewalk, please place leaf piles within 7 feet from the edge of the street.
• Please do not deposit leaves into the street.
