Lippizan Ln. Fire Victim Died From Fire-Related Injuries: Coroner
The Lake County Coroner's Office identified the man killed in a March 14, 2019 house fire on Lippizan Lane.
ROUND LAKE PARK, IL — The Lake County Coroner's Office has identified the man killed in a March 14 Round Lake Park house fire as 68-year-old Gregory Gauvain. According to the coroner's office, an autopsy was performed on Gauvain at 10:15 a.m. Friday, just hours after the fire broke out late Thursday night at the home on Lippizan Lane.
According to a release, the coroner's office was notified and responded to the home at 12:27 a.m. Friday for a death investigation.
“On March 15, 2019, at 10:15 AM, an autopsy was performed on the victim, 68-year-old Gregory Gauvain," Dr. Howard Cooper, Lake County Coroner, said in a release. "The preliminary autopsy results indicate his death was caused by fire related injuries. Toxicology is pending.

Dr. Cooper added that the investigation into Gauvain's death is ongoing by the coroner's office and the Round Lake Park Police Department.
“We have been in close contact with Mr. Gauvain’s family and our deepest condolences go out to
them during this difficult time,” Dr. Cooper said, in a release.

On Friday, the Round Lake Park Police Department and Grayslake Fire crews responded to the scene around 11:55 p.m. after neighbors reported seeing smoke and called the fire department, police said.
Round Lake Police said the 69-year-old wife of the deceased homeowner - now identified as Gauvain - was taken to Condell Hospital in Libertyville where she was treated for smoke inhalation.
A neighbor who entered the house was also treated for smoke inhalation and released from the hospital, according to police.
