Lockdown At Gurnee Schools, Businesses Due To Police Activity: Cops

Police were responding to an "altercation involving a weapon" on Minthaven Court.

GURNEE, IL — Police activity prompted a soft lockdown at schools and businesses in Gurnee Friday morning as officers responded to an "altercation involving a weapon" in the 100 block of Minthaven Court, police said.

Police said the lockdown was implemented out of "abundance of caution" after police received a report of the incident at around 11:05 a.m.

No suspects were found during a search of the area, and the lockdown was lifted, police said.
