Man Accused Of Providing Fentanyl-Laced Pills That Killed Man, 33
The 29-year-old Volo man now faces a drug-induced homicide charge in connection with the 33-year-old man's death.

LAKE COUNTY, IL β A Lake County man faces a drug induced homicide charge for allegations he provided the fentanyl-laced pills that lead to the death of a 33-year-old man in August, police said.
The Lake County Sheriff's Office was called to a home in the 2700 block of West Harrigan Road in Volo on Aug. 11 for a report of a 33-year-old Volo man who was not breathing, according to a news release from the Lake County Sheriff's Office. Paramedics and deputies attempted life-saving measures, and the man was taken to an hospital in McHenry where he was pronounced dead.
An autopsy revealed the man died due to the adverse effects of fentanyl, according to authorities.

Police learned the man bought pills from a man at an area gas station prior to his death. The pills, which were located in the man's room, tested positive for fentanyl, and video surveillance from the gas station helped authorities identify the seller as Jerry L. Gray, 29, of the 27400 block of Volo Village Road.
Gray has since been charged with drug-induced homicide, which is a Class X felony, in McHenry County. Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Gray on Monday, took him into custody Wednesday at a gas station in the 31700 block of North Route 12 in Volo and transferred him to the McHenry County Jail.
