Man Arrested For Slashing Family Member Across Face: Police
The 54-year-old man faces aggravated domestic battery charges following the attack.

LAKE COUNTY, IL — A Lake County man is recovering after being slashed in his face with a knife by a family member, authorities said.
The Lake County Sheriff’s Office was called to a home in the 21200 block of Route 173 in unincorporated Antioch for a reported domestic battery in progress. Police learned a knife was being used in the attack, and deputies were able to de-escalate the situation when they arrived at the scene.
A 45-year-old man, who lives at the home, had been slashed across the face with a knife from near his eye to his lip, according to a news release from the sheriff's office. The man sustained a very serious facial injury.

Authorities say a family member, Aaron Locklear, 54, used a knife with an eight-inch blade in the attack after the two men got into a verbal argument. Alcohol appears to be a factor in causing the incident.
Locklear was arrested and taken to a hospital for treatment of a cut to his finger, which he sustained during the fight, and was treated and released.

He has been charged with aggravated domestic battery, aggravated battery causing bodily harm and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
