Man Dies After Falling Off Roof In Gurnee: Coroner

The 29-year-old Chicago man was working to install solar panels on the roof of a Gurnee house when he fell off, authorities said.

GURNEE, IL — A 28-year-old Chicago man has died after he fell off a roof while working to install solar panels at a home in Gurnee Friday.

The man has been identified as Braulio Lozano, according to the Lake County Coroner's Office.

Lozano was part of a crew installing the panels on the roof of a two-story home in the 2000 block of Liberty Lane when he fell off the roof at about 3:30 p.m. Friday, according to the coroner's office news release.

He was taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead in the emergency room. Preliminary results from an autopsy show Lozano died from blunt force injuries as a result of the fall.

The incident remains under investigation by the Gurnee Police Department and Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
