• Route 83, Winchester Road Intersection Reopens After Months Of Construction Work (patch.com) — Drivers in and around Grayslake can once again use the Winchester Road and Route 83 intersection, which has reopened after months of safety-focused construction. The project added new turn lanes, a traffic signal, better drainage to reduce flooding on Route 83, and reinforced soil to create a more stable, long-lasting roadway. Officials say the work took two extra months after crews found unexpected peat beneath the road.
