ROUND LAKE BEACH, IL — The Lake County Sheriff’s Special Investigations Group concluded an investigation Tuesday into a convicted felon and documented street gang member from Round Lake Beach who authorities said was illegally selling guns. According to a news release from the Lake County Sheriff's office, 24-year-old Marcus A. Hudson, from the 200 block of Woodland Drive, was arrested after detectives witnessed him selling a semi-automatic pistol, which was later determined to have been stolen in an Ingleside burglary. Before that, Hudson sold a gun which had been stolen during a burglary in McHenry, according to the news release.

After reviewing the facts and evidence, the Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office approved charges of felony unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon (two counts), felony aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon — no FOID card — and felony aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon — no CCL — against Hudson.

“Firearms in the wrong hands often ends in tragedies," Lake County Sheriff John Idleburg said. "I am very proud of the investigative work and collaboration between our Special Investigations Group, ATF, and the other law-enforcement agencies involved in this investigation.”
