Round Lake Beach Man, 22, Gets Prison Time For Armed Robbery

MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — A 22-year-old Round Lake Beach man has been sentenced to 13 years in prison for an armed robbery that happened in McHenry County in July 2023.

Christopher Williams pleaded guilty to the armed robbery, which happened on July 23, 2023, in the 3400 block of Thompson Road in Wonder Lake, according to a news release from the McHenry County State's Attorney's Office.

Police say Williams robbed a minor at gunpoint while he was in the back of a silver Porsche Cayenne. Police tracked down the Porsche and Williams was identified as the suspect, according to the news release.

Police learned Williams struck the minor in the face with a blue gun and then demanded money from him.

Williams was sentenced to the prison time this past week in McHenry County Circuit Court.
