Round Lake Beach Theater Will Close
Regal Cinemas is closing 39 locations across the U.S., including theaters in Round Lake Beach and Bolingbrook.

ROUND LAKE BEACH, IL — The COVID-19 pandemic slashed screenings and revenue for major theaters across the U.S., and now Regal Cinemas has announced it will close additional theaters just months its parent company, Cineworld, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Among the theaters that will be closing is the Regal Round Lake Beach, 550 East Rollins Road.
According to legal filings obtained by Variety, 39 locations will be shuttered across the U.S. In the Chicago area, the Round Lake Beach and Bolingbrook theaters will close. Cineworld will reject the leases of the theaters starting on Feb. 15, according to Variety.
The closures are expected to save the company $22 million annually, according to media reports.
