Route 120 To Close As Railroad Crossing Repairs Get Underway
Route 120 will be fully closed to through traffic at the WCL railroad tracks. The closure will begin at 9 a.m. on Monday.
GRAYSLAKE, IL — The Illinois Department of Transportation in conjunction with the Wisconsin Central Limited is planning to repair the badly deteriorated at-grade railroad crossing on Route 120 (Belvidere Road) west of Route 83 (Barron Boulevard) in Grayslake.
Route 120 will be fully closed to through traffic at the WCL railroad tracks. The closure will begin at 9 a.m. on Monday and conclude on or before 7 a.m. on May 11.
The vehicle detour route for eastbound traffic on Route 120 (Belvidere Road) is to proceed north on Hainesville Road, east on Washington Street, south on Route 83 (Barron Boulevard), back to IL 120, according to an IDOT news release.
