Route 120 Set To Reopen Following Railroad Crossing Repairs

GRAYSLAKE, IL — The Illinois Department of Transportation in conjunction with the Wisconsin Central Limited has been working to repair the badly deteriorated at-grade railroad crossing on Route 120 (Belvidere Road) west of Route 83 (Barron Boulevard) in Grayslake.

Route 120 has been fully closed to through traffic in recent weeks but the work is expected to conclude on or before 7 a.m. on Saturday, according to an IDOT news release.

The vehicle detour route for eastbound traffic on Route 120 (Belvidere Road) is to proceed north on Hainesville Road, east on Washington Street, south on Route 83 (Barron Boulevard), back to IL 120, according to an IDOT news release.
