Snowfall Totals From Overnight Winter Storm

The highest snowfall totals fell in communities in far northern Illinois, with 9.6 inches of snow recorded in Bull Valley.

LAKE AND MCHENRY COUNTIES, IL — The snowfall totals are in from a winter storm that dropped eight inches of snow on at least one suburban town.

The National Weather Service has released 24-hour snowfall totals following the Thursday night storm, with more than 9 inches of snow recorded in Bull Valley.

Heavy wet snow started falling across northern Illinois starting Thursday afternoon and continuing through Friday morning.

A swath of 6 to 9 inches of snow fell across the Rockford metro area and along and near the Illinois-Wisconsin state line, according to the National Weather Service.

Spotty snow showers are in the forecast on Friday and slushy snow is also in the forecast Saturday night.a cording to the National Weather Service.
