Eduardo Gutierrez, 21, was wanted in New York on a felony arrest warrant for criminal possession of a firearm, and other charges.

WAUKEGAN, IL — The Lake County Sheriff's Office Warrants Team and the U.S. Marshals Service- Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force (USMS-GLRFTF) arrested a man Thursday wanted on a felony arrest no-bond warrant out of New York for criminal possession of a firearm, bail jumping, and conspiracy second-degree drug sales, according to a sheriff's office news release. Eduardo Gutierrez, 21, from the 0-100 block of 4th Street in New Rochelle, New York, was avoiding arrest by staying at a home in the 500 block of Oak Street in Waukegan, according to the news release.

Earlier this month, the sheriff's office Warrants Team received information from the USMS-New Jersey/New York Task Force that Gutierrez might be hiding in the Waukegan area, and further investigation by Sheriff's Warrants Deputies determined he was staying at the address on Oak Street, the news release said. That's where authorities arrested Gutierrez on Thursday, and found that he had a semi-automatic pistol with a destroyed serial number, the sheriff's office said.
