The cost to enroll in the health care exchanges opening Oct. 1 depend on your age, family size, income and other variables. One of those variables is where you live.
The average cost of basic coverage nationally is $249 a month, not including tax credits.
According to this Huffington Post map, the average weighted premium cost for the lowest bronze tier in Illinois is in the $200 to $249 range, in line with the national average. That's lower than Wisconsin and Indiana and on par with Iowa, Missouri and Michigan.
