'A Tragic Reality': Dold Reacts to Attacks on Israel

Seven Israelis were killed Thursday when squads of gunmen brought weapons and explosives into southern Israel from Egypt's Sinai Peninsula and attacked buses, cars and army patrol, AP reports.

The three-hour attack was one of the boldest on the Jewish state in years, according to AP.

said the attack exposed "the tragic reality that our ally Israel is surrounded by hostile neighbors." He went on to say that the U.S. must stand by Israel during "this difficult moment."

Earlier:  

"We must … make it clear to the international community that the ongoing terror attacks against Israel’s civilians cannot be tolerated, ignored, or justified."
