Amy Morton's The Barn Steakhouse Coming To Highland Park: Report

HIGHLAND PARK, IL — Restaurateur Amy Morton is bringing her famed steakhouse The Barn home to Highland Park.

Nine years ago, Morton opened the Evanston location of The Barn Steakhouse and has cemented itself as a Chicagoland favorite. The restaurant landed itself on Eater Chicago's list of the best restaurants in Evanston in 2025.

The Highland Park location, expected to open in February, will feature signature menu items such as the bone-in rib-eye, Zaatar roasted half chicken and the Grand Central Caviar sandwich. The restaurant will also feature a 25-seat speakeasy-style bar behind an unmarked door as well as an event space.

Morton said she's always wanted to expand her steakhouse and is happy to open up in the city she was raised in. The Highland Park location will be located at 1900 First St.

“The Barn isn't about copy and paste,” she said. “It's about resonance — a brand that evolves with its neighborhood while always carrying the same heartbeat.”
