THE CITY OF HIGHLAND PARK AND VEOLIA ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES OFFER SPECIAL REFUSE COLLECTION ON SATURDAY, JUNE 25

Highland Park, Illinois – In response to the power outages that have occurred as a result of the June 21 storm event, the City of Highland Park and Veolia Environmental Services will offer a special refuse collection on Saturday, June 25, for residents to dispose of spoiled food. Residents are asked to place all spoiled food items in plastic garbage bags and place the bags in either Veolia-issued toters or regular garbage cans and place at the curbside for collection. Cans must be placed within four feet of the curb to qualify. Additionally, this collection will occur at the curbside only and will not occur at the back door, regardless of your regular service schedule. Stickers are not required.

This refuse collection will take place between 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. and is intended for spoiled food only. Recycling, landscaping and construction debris will not be collected. Please note that Veolia will not collect garbage bags that weigh more than 50 pounds.

Please contact Veolia Environmental Services directly at (847) 272-4145 to make arrangements for a special refuse collection on Saturday, June 25, between 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.
