Check Out These July 4th Highland Park Events

Highland Park's got a lot planned for this year's Fourth of July. With a theme called “A Look Back in Time," the city plans to highlight its history with parades, fireworks and more.

The festivities begin with the Chamber of Commerce’s Children’s Bike and Pet Parade at 9:30 a.m. on July 4. If you're looking to participate, the City encourages you to meet in the lower level of the parking structure at the northwest corner of St. Johns and Laurel Avenues at 9:15 a.m.

The annual Independence Day Parade begins at 10 a.m. at the intersection of Laurel and St. Johns Avenue. It'll head head north on St. Johns Avenue, then turn west on Central Avenue and continue to Sunset Park.

After, check out the Park District’s annual  at  from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Attendees are in for food, live music, carnival rides, a petting zoo, pony rides and picnic games.

That evening, head to the  the seventh annual  concert at Wolters Field, and end the night with fireworks that will be viewed easily from Wolters Field.

Due to construction, parking will not be available at Wolters Field. Event‐goers are encouraged to consider parking at the  east parking lot, the Highland Park Country Club or the Staples parking lot.

The Park District of Highland Park also offers residents the chance to float and watch the fireworks from Hidden Creek Aqua Park for $5 from 8:15 p.m. to 10:45 p.m.
