City Council Honors Businesses for Longevity
Ten businesses were recognized for serving the community for over 50 years.

On Monday, the City Council, along with the Business and Economic Development Commission, presented Business Recognition Awards to businesses that have been in Highland Park 50 years or more for their excellence in business operations, and commitment to the Highland Park community.
Among those businesses recognized for their success and longevity were which has been entertaining crowds from a vast array of genres and artists since 1904; which has been encouraging children to create their own unique learning experience in a place of exciting discoveries since 1926; North Shore Decorators Service Inc., which has been making exclusive custom draperies since 1928; Family Service: Prevention Education, & Counseling, NFP offering professional support for positive change to Lake County families since 1930, John Zengeler Cleaners and Coin Laundry which has been in operation since 1940, Trans World Travel specializing in Christian travel and Pilgrimages since 1947, Frank Vena Landscaping serving Highland Park and surrounding communities since 1955, Dal Ponte Interiors founded in 1960 as a wood working business, Mirco Builders and Ravinia Salon serving customers since 1962.
