Cuts to Free Senior Bus Service Begin March 1

Early morning and late afternoon buses will no longer be available.

Starting March 1, Highland Park’s free bus service for seniors will cut back, TribLocal reports.

The buses that travel between the Deerfield Metra station and will no longer be available in the early morning and late afternoon hours, officials said this week.

According to Highland Park’s bus fleet supervisor Joe Guill, about 75 percent of seniors who use the city’s bus service do so between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Monday through Friday.
