Demo of Millard Park Sewerage Plant to Start Sept. 2

The work should be done by mid-October.

The following is from the Park District of Highland Park:

The Park District of Highland Park Board of Commissioners has approved a contract with American Demolition Corporation of Elgin, Illinois for demolition of the North Shore Sewerage Treatment Plant building located at Millard Park, 15 Ravine Drive. Demolition work is expected to begin September 2, 2014 with an anticipated completion date of October 16, 2014 barring any unforeseen weather delays. The scope of the project will be to demolish the existing structure and return the site to a natural, passive beach area.

“Having a beautiful lake front is an invaluable resource for the Highland Park community,” said Scott Meyers, Board President for the Park District of Highland Park. “When the Park District started the Rosewood Beach renovation project last year, restoring Millard Park to a quiet passive beach was part of that plan. We are delighted to be able to provide this important resource to our community.”
