Driver and Passenger Charged with DUI

The following information is from the Highland Park Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE

Sudarshan France, 23, of the 2900 block of Gilead Avenue in Zion, was charged with driving under the influence, uninsured motor vehicle, no valid registration and driving while license suspended after being stopped by police near Old Elm Road and Skokie Valley Road at 4 a.m. Oct. 18.

Passenger Cory Rhinehart, 24, of the 38700 block of N. Sheridan Road in Beach Park, was also charged with DUI after being observed switching seats with France. Both France and Rhinehart were released on a personal recognizance bonds with court dates of Nov. 21.

Francisco Martinez-Ortega, 35, of the 700 block of Green Bay Road in Highwood, was charged with driving under the influence, improper lane usage and driving while license suspended after being stopped by police in the 1300 block of Park Avenue West at 3:30 a.m. Oct. 19. Martinez-Ortega was released on a personal recognizance bond with a Nov. 14.

DRIVING WHILE LICENSE SUSPENDED

Charles Gonzalez, 50, of the 100 block of Central Avenue in Highland Park, was charged with driving while license suspended, disobeying a stop sign and uninsured motor vehicle after being stopped by police in the 100 block of Central Avenue at 8 p.m. Oct. 15. He was released on a personal recognizance bond with a Nov. 26 court date.

Daniel Echevarria, 22, of the 500 block of Sheridan Road in Highwood, was charged with driving while license suspended and speeding after being stopped by police near Ridge Road and Reserve Court at 8 a.m. Oct. 16. He was released on a personal recognizance bond with a Nov. 12 court date.

Scott Vancura, 24, of the 5400 block of S. Lorel in Chicago, was charged with driving while license suspended and speeding after being stopped by police near Park Avenue West and Skokie Valley Road at 11 a.m. Oct. 17. He was released on a personal recognizance bond with a Nov. 12 court date.

Terrance McKinney, 25, of the 14600 block of S. Woodlawn Avenue in Dolton, was charged with driving while license suspended, uninsured motor vehicle and no valid registration after being stopped by police in the 2700 block of Skokie Valley Road at 8 p.m. Oct. 19. He was released on a personal recognizance bond with a Nov. 26 court date.
