Two catalytic converters stolen from parking lot, stolen credit cards used without authorization: Highland Park Police Blotter

HIGHLAND PARK, IL — The following information comes from the Highland Park and Highwood police departments and public records as a record of incidents reported to the police and of those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law beyond a reasonable doubt.
INCIDENTS
VANDALISM
At some point between 5 p.m. May 19 and noon on May 23, someone used blue spray paint to write the word "gore" along with various initials on a bridge near the 900 block of Augusta Way.
COMMERCIAL BURGLARY
Someone broke into Diver Cantina North Shore, 1850 Second St., at some point on May 23 by cutting through an exterior vinyl awning of the patio and stole alcohol and a cash register from inside.

PACKAGE THEFT
A resident in the 400 block of Orchard Lane reported that someone had stolen a package delivered by USPS around 4 p.m. on May 24.
CAR BURGLARY
At some point between 1:15 and 2 p.m., someone stole a wallet from inside an Acura parked in the 1800 block of Sunset Road. It was not known if the car was left unlocked, but credit cards stolen from the wallet were later used without authorization at area merchants.

THEFTS FROM VEHICLES
- Two thieves, described as a tall, blonde-haired man dressed in black and a tall, skinny man in black clothes and an orange mask got out of a blue sedan and stole a catalytic converter worth about $580 from a car parked in the 1900 block of Green Bay Road around 4:15 a.m. on May 22.
- Someone stole a catalytic converter from a Ford minibus parked in a lot in the 1900 block of First Street.
ARRESTS/CITATIONS
A 20-year-old North Chicago man was arrested around 12:45 a.m. on May 28 following a traffic stop at Skokie Valley Road and Park Avenue West and charged with driving without a valid license and possession of alcohol by a minor and issued citations for illegal transportation of an open container of alcohol, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and speeding.
Ruben A. Delgadillo, 23, of Waukegan, was arrested around 4:45 a.m. on May 28 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, unlawful possession of cannabis by a driver and reckless driving after he was pulled over speeding 115 mph headed south on Skokie Valley Road past Westleigh Road. He was also issued citations for illegal transportation of an open container of alcohol, speeding in a construction zone, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and no valid registration.
Michael P. Kramer, 49, of the 1900 block of Sunset Road, Highland Park, was arrested around 11 a.m. on May 30 and charged with two counts of misdemeanor domestic battery after police were called to his home for a report of a fight there.
