HIGHLAND PARK, IL — The following information comes from the Highland Park and Highwood police departments and public records as a record of incidents reported to the police and of those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law beyond a reasonable doubt.

INCIDENTS

CRIMINAL DAMAGE
Someone damaged two wooden fence posts in a yard in the 1500 block of McDaniels Avenue at some point on June 15, police were told at afternoon.

SHOPLIFTING
Someone stole a Bose speaker valued at $650 from the Guitar Center, 143 Skokie Valley Road, at some point between June 16 and June 17.

THEFT FROM VEHICLE
Someone stole a front license plate from a Ford that was parked in an underground parking garage on the east side of NorthShore Highland Park Hospital, 777 Park Ave. West

THEFT FROM HOTEL
At some pointe between 6:30 p.m. and midnight on June 17, someone stole a watch from a room in the Courtyard Marriot hotel at 1505 Lake Cook Road.

ARRESTS/CITATIONS

Heidi Avila, 39, of the 300 block of Park Avenue, Highland Park, was charged with battery after throwing a beer bottle at a person's head around 3:30 a.m. on June 5 at 433 Sheridan Road in Highwood, where officers reported the bottle struck the person in the face, bruising her eye lid and cutting her eyebrow.

Around 9:30 p.m. on June 16, officers arrested an 18-year-old Prospect Heights man and charged him with speeding 77 mph in the 800 block of Central Avenue, where the posted speed limit is 25 mph.

Pablo J. Vazquez-Perez, 47, of the first block of North McAree Road, Waukegan, was arrested around 3:30 a.m. on June 19 following a traffic stop near the intersection of Skokie Valley Road and Central Avenue. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving under the influence of alcohol with a breath alcohol concentration of 0.08 or greater. Officers also issued him a citation for illegal transportation of an open container of alcohol by a driver.

Curtis M. Juron, 28, of the 3400 block of North Kilpatrick Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 10:30 p.m. on June 19 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving under the influence of alcohol with a breath alcohol concentration of 0.08 or greater following a traffic stop in the 600 block of Park Avenue West.
