Hella Stempel, Beloved Senior Center Member, Dies

Hella Stempel, 91, of Highland Park, died Wednesday. She was the loving mother of Sonny Patrick; mother-in-law of Michael; and aunt of Uschi, Peter and Susanne.

Stempel loved going to the Senior Center every Tuesday to knit as a member of the Knitwits and to sing with the Laurel Larks Chorus.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Kelley & Spalding Funeral Home, 1787 Deerfield Road. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Highland Park Senior Center, 54 Laurel Ave., Highland Park, IL 60035.
