Highland Park Offering Amnesty on Interest for Fines

The amnesty period runs through Oct. 10.

The following is from the City of Highland Park:

The Highland Park City Council has established a temporary interest amnesty period on outstanding fines levied by the City’s Administrative Hearing Officers.

Beginning today, August 12, 2014 through October 10, 2014 individuals may come to City Hall, 1707 St. Johns Avenue in Highland Park and pay outstanding fines and hearing costs without paying the associated interest fees. However, beginning October 11, 2014 fines plus interest will be referred to a collections agency. At that time outstanding fines, interest and collection costs will be due.
