Highland Park Resident Steve Braun Recognized For Community Service

HIGHLAND PARK, IL — Steve Braun is no stranger to being recognized for his community support and once again, the Highland Park resident has been honored by his company for his generosity.

Braun was honored as a Northwestern Mutual Community Service winner recently, which was the fourth time he has captured the honor. Braun, who works as a wealth management adviser for Northwestern Mutual, was honored and received a $15,000 grant for the Chicago-based not-for-profit Cures Within Reach.

The charitable organization catalyzes the testing of approved therapies for new indications around the United States and beyond, according to a news release. In Chicago, Cures Within Reach works to improve the health disparities by funding local clinical-based trials that impact racial and ethnic minority communities.

Braun previously was honored with the Community Service Award in 2011, 2015, and 2019.

According to his company’s website, Braun lives in Highland Park with his wife Karen and is the father of two children. Braun has been a donor and volunteer leader at Cures Within Reach for more than a decade and has served on the charitable organization's executive board.
