Highwood Festival Days A Huge Success

Highwood Chamber of Commerce thanks its volunteers for helping with this annual event.

The 2012 Highwood Festival Days event, dedicated to honoring the City of Highwood on its 125th Anniversary, was a huge success.

The Highwood Chamber of Commerce organized and managed the event but it is our entire community that deserves the thanks this year. Our residents rose to the challenge of major road construction, full parking lots and big crowds.

The spirit of Highwood and its people is something we can all be proud of. Many volunteers worked long hours to ensure the success of this annual event. Lenny Innocenzi, festival chairman, and several Chamber board members spent countless hours making sure everything went smoothly. From planning and set up to cleaning up the grounds the day after, Lenny and his crew of friends and volunteers made sure everyone had a good time.

We'd also like to thank Jeff Ponzi and his Public Works crew for all of their behind-the-scenes work, the Highwood Police Department and Highwood Fire Department for keeping us all safe, and the City of Highwood Staff for being attentive to all of our needs and requests. Many Chamber members worked diligently in staging the first big parade we've had in years.

We were amazed at the turnout—both from the participants as well as the curbside crowds. So, thanks again to a great community and we hope to see you again next year.
