HP Mayor, Ravinia CEO Take Ice Bucket Challenge; Is Emanuel Next?

Mayor Nancy Rotering challenged her counterpart to the south, Rahm Emanuel, to the ALS fundraising challenge.

Highland Park Mayor Nancy Rotering got a bucket of ice water dumped on her in the name of a good cause and she wants to know if Rahm Emanuel will do so next?

Rotering and Ravina President and CEO Welz Kauffman Monday took the so-called “Ice Bucket Challenge,” a social media phenomenon in which people record a video of themselves getting doused in ice water to raise awareness and funds for ALS.

The custom is to choose a next person for the challenge.

Rotering nominated Emanuel as well as Ghida Neukirch, Highland Park’s deputy city manager. Kauffman nominated Riccardo Muti, music director for the Chicago Symphony Orchestera, as well as Jay Henderson, its chairman of the board.

The two hugged in solidarity before having two coolers of water dumped on their heads.
