Donald Davis Comes to Elm Place Wednesday

Donald Davis has said about himself, “storytelling is not what I do for a living...it is how I do all that I do while I am living," and Highland Park will have a chance to hear him at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Elm Place School. During the day, all children in grades four through eight in North Shore School District 112 will get the opportunity as well. Tickets are available and benefit the District 112 Foundation.

Heller Nature Center Offers Adult, Children’s Programs

Several programs are on tap this week at the Heller Nature Center.

A class on babies in nature for parents and their children from ages six months through 3 will start things off for the week at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. Children of all ages are invited back at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday to look through a telescope at the moon, Saturn and more.

Take a hike (with a naturalist) at 12:15 p.m. Wednesday and bring your children between 3 and 6 to hear stories in the woods at 10 a.m. Thursday.

Giants Play Thursday

Friday night lights will take place Thursday in High this week as the Highland Park High School football team entertains Evanston at 7 p.m. Thursday at Wolters Field. Most games in the northern suburbs are being played a day early this week because of Yom Kippur.
