No Big Enrollment Increases Expected in Highland Park Schools

Enrollment figures are expected to remain flat in Highland Park schools.

Though official numbers won't be available until sometime after the new school year gets underway, enrollment at Highland Park schools isn't expected to fluctuate much compared with last school year, reported the Chicago Tribune.

Officials at Township High School District 113 says enrollment figures will likely remain flat, according to the Tribune. Kindergarten enrollment in District 112 is down from three sections to two.

The Lake County Regional Office of Education recently released district enrollment figures for the 2012-13 school year.

Total enrollment in District 113, which operates Highland Park High School and Deerfield High School, was 3,772 last school year. Enrollment at HPHS was 2,071.

Total enrollment in North Shore School District 112 was 4,452 last school year. Of the district's 12 schools, enrollment was highest at Edgewood Middle School, which had 611 students. Green Bay School, which is pre-kindergarten, ranked lowest with 205 students, followed by Braeside Elementary with 264 students.
