Featured Obituary:
Nancy Miller nee Peterson, age 77, of Glencoe, IL. Nancy peacefully passed away in the comfort of her home on Tuesday, August 15, 2023. She was blessed to be surrounded by her loving family. Nancy was gifted with such a beautiful family. She was a beloved wife of 53 years to her husband Philip Miller. A loving mother of Ross (Lani) Miller, Carrie (Courtney) Mygatt, and Lauren (Andrew) Edelston. A devoted grandmother of Oscar and Jocelyn Miller; Brody, Amelia ‘Milli’, and Summer Mygatt; Ryder and Maeve Edelston. Nancy was a cherished sister of Russell (Vicki) Peterson and John ‘Woody’ (Margaret) Peterson and the most adored aunt of many nieces and nephews.
Nancy grew-up in a military (Army) family, graduated from Monticello College, and was a United Airline attendant for 10 years. Nancy’s legacy should not be measured by her titles or accomplishments but rather by how she made people feel. Nancy was a true gift to both her family and friends. She had a heart of gold and would do anything for others. Nancy was selfless and extremely generous with her time. She loved to volunteer, host events for others, open up her home to entertain, and always be involved in her children and grandkids lives. When you met Nancy, her energy was contagious and you fell in love with her laughter, love and her affection for friendship.
Nancy was an artist with exquisite taste. Nancy was passionate about designing her home, landscape gardens, and making stunning outdoor/indoor floral arrangements. She had a talent for perfecting every detail when it came time to plan weddings, showers, parties, birthdays and more. She also loved her time in the kitchen and took great pride in her incredible ability to cook like a professional chef. She would never admit it but it was true! She carried her artistic ability to her plates, making every meal with beautiful colors. Nancy knew how sacred mealtime was and filling her table with family and friends was very important. Everything she put her heart to was absolutely beautiful. Nancy was beautiful!
Nancy also had an adventuresome spirit: camping trips; ski trips; rafting on the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon and Snake River in Idaho. She enjoyed going to dude ranches in Colorado and Arizona and scuba diving in the Caribbean. Nancy loved to travel with her husband, Phil, to Japan, Hong Kong, Africa and so many more places.Read more via Donnellan Family Funerals »
