Featured Obituary:
Elsie Loeb passed away on January 21, 2023 at the age of 88. Elsie was born on September 22, 1934 and grew up in St. Louis, Missouri. She graduated from Connecticut College and met Dr. Henry Loeb (unrelated) in Chicago. They married in 1960 and raised four children in the greater Chicago area (Highland Park). In addition to being a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, she was devoted to a range of charities including serving as chairwoman for the Michael Reese Crystal Ball in 1981. She also was an owner of the Schneider-Loeb-Bluhm ceramics gallery in the 1990s. Elsie was adored by everyone who knew her and always exuded a subtle elegance, dignity, and calm composure even in the face of difficult times. She was a supporter of various liberal causes and democratic candidates nationwide. She lived a long and beautiful life full of rice crackers, tennis, creme caramel, novels, Rummikub, walking on beaches, and rolling tongues (a rare ability that runs in the Loeb family). Most of all, she was continually and selflessly devoted to her friends, husband, children and grandchildren. She will be intensely missed by them all.Read more via Weinstein & Piser Funeral Home »
