Raymond O. Meinke, 79, of Northbrook, passed away January 2, 2023. He was the beloved husband for 25 years of Andrea Meinke nee Ramirez; loving father of Rebecca (Paul) Vietzen, Jeff (Joanna) Meinke and Carrie Corcoran; cherished grandfather of Jeremy Gonzalez, Mary Frances Usenik, Jeffery Meinke, Joshua Meinke and Grace Vietzen; adoring great grandfather of two; dear brother of Thomas and Timothy (Nancy) Meinke; fond uncle of Andrew and Katie Meinke.
Raymond was a graduate of Maine East High School and Columbia College. Soon after his graduation he was hired at Station 17 in Decatur, IL as a cameraman and engineer. Eventually he came back to Chicago and worked for several television stations, primarily with WTTW where he spent most of his career. During his time at WTTW, he worked on The Frugal Gourmet, Check Please, Sound Stage, Chicago Tonight and other various programs that WTTW produced. He met many celebrities throughout his career in television. While at WTTW, he shared his passion of Television Production while teaching at Columbia College. He did this part time for over 40 years.
Raymond also enjoyed being a Ham Radio Operator and talking with people from all around the world. Ray loved sports and was an avid Chicago sports fans. He will be greatly missed.Read more via N.H. Scott & Hanekamp Funeral Home »
