Featured Obituary:

William “Truk” Trukenbrod, 82, of Lake Forest, Illinois passed away peacefully on May 21st, 2022. Bill was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease at age 62 and proceeded to live a full life until his passing. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Joan. Bill was the father of Britt (Allison) and Suzy (Ryan) Stone and cherished grandfather of Caroline, William, Charlie and Allie Trukenbrod and Tyler, Andrew and Ben Stone. He is also survived by his brother Tom (Rosemary) and sister Ani (Preston).

Bill was born in Orange, NJ on June 19th, 1939, to Karl and Jean Trukenbrod. He graduated from New Trier High School in 1957, received a bachelors in business administration from the University of Wisconsin Business School, and went on to complete his MBA at the University of Chicago GSB. He was a proud member of the US Army Reserves. Bill was an active supporter of the University of Wisconsin Business School, served as President of the Village of Bannockburn, and was a board member of the Chicago Crime Commission. Bill worked at the Northern Trust Bank for 38 years, retiring at the age of 62.

During his life, Bill treasured his time with family and friends, traveling, playing golf, drinking wine, laughing, skiing in Steamboat, and much more. Bill and Joan split their time between Bannockburn, IL and Desert Mountain, AZ. All who knew Bill will miss his infectious smile and his warm and giving nature.
