Police Blotter: Stolen Kindle, Digital Cameras

Police report arrests for cannabis possession and driving violations in this week's summary.

The following items are taken from the Highland Park Police Department. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Teens cited for illegal drinking

Dracy D. Clayborn, 18, of the 1800 block of Hoveland Court in Evanston; Tony L. Harris, 19, of the 800 block of Gaffield in Evanston; and Matthew R. Stein, 18, of the 3100 block of West Schubert Avenue in Chicago, were issued tickets for consumption of alcohol by a minor in the 400 block of Broadview Avenue. Their hearing is set for May 19.

Possession of cannabis

Arielle R. Modin, 19, of the 200 block of Painters Lake Road in Highland Park, was cited for possession of cannabis in the 1300 block of Hilary Lane. Her hearing is set for June 2.

Theft

Police were investigating the reported theft of a Kindle e-reader between April 28 and April 29 in the 900 block of North Avenue.

Police were investigating the theft of bushes and landscaping lights in the 900 block of Timber Hill Road.

Police were investigating the theft of digital cameras from a vehicle April 28 and April 29 in the 700 block of Park Avenue.

Police were investigating the theft of a license plate between April 29 and May 1 in the 600 block of Elm Place.

DUI arrests 

Matthew C. Carlisle, 28, of the 5500 block of Washington Road in Kenosha, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, speeding and having no valid registration. Police stopped his vehicle in the 2000 block of Skokie Valley Road. He was released on bond with a court date of May 20.

Juanito Santiago-Ocampo, 31, of the 100 block of Washington Park in Waukegan, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, driving with license suspended, open transportation of alcohol and impeding traffic. Police stopped his vehicle in the 3100 block of Skokie Valley Road and later transported him to Bond Court.

Michael Evans, 42, of the 1900 block of West 85th Avenue in Merrillville, IN, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and a traffic violation after his vehicle was stopped by police in the 700 block of Skokie Valley Road. His court date is May 27.

Suspended license violations 

Erica K. Morelli, 20, of the 2000 block of Greenwood Avenue in Highland Park, was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended, possession of cannabis and disobeying a stop sign in the 1200 block of Central Avenue. Her court date is May 27.

Pedro Enriquez, 20, of the 2200 block of Williamsburg in Highland Park, was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended and speeding in the 2100 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park.  His court date is May 25.

Albert W. Kennedy Jr., 35, of the 4000 block of Oriole Court in Gurnee, was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended and improper lane usage. Police stopped his vehicle in the 1900 block of Skokie Valley Road. His court date is June 8.

Burglary

Police were investigating a vehicular burglary in which a GPS device was stolen overnight on May 6 in the 100 block of Vine Avenue.
