Burglary from motor vehicle

Police are investigating a report of a burglary from motor vehicle. It was reported that sometime overnight unknown persons entered an unlocked vehicle and removed a GPS, two walkie talkies and a charger cord for a Bluetooth. The incident occurred in the 1800 block of Midland Avenue, Highland Park, Illinois.

Police are investigating a delayed report of a criminal damage to property. It was reported that sometime over the weekend an unknown subject drove in and out through the gates of the Port Clinton garage causing them both to bend. The Port Clinton garage is located in the 600 block of Laurel Avenue, Highland Park.

Police are investigating a delayed report of a criminal damage to property. It was reported that sometime between 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. unknown person(s) may have kicked in a mailbox door. Mail was still inside the box located in the 700 block of Judson Avenue, Highland Park, Illinois.

David Winkelman, 62, of the 400 block of Woodland Road, Highland Park, Illinois, was cited with criminal damage to property after police responded to a complaint that someone cut down some vines that were on a fence in the 400 block of Woodland Road, Highland Park. Winkelman was given a notice to appear as bond with a court date of August 8, 2012 at 301 Greenleaf Street, Park City, Illinois.

Police are investigating a delayed report of a criminal damage to property. It was reported that sometime between July 21 at 12 p.m. and July 24 at 11:30 a.m. unknown person(s) damaged two garage windows by an unknown object. No forced entry attempt was located. The incident occurred in the 2100 block of Magnolia Lane, Highland Park, Illinois.

Police are investigating a report of a criminal damage to property. It was reported that unknown person(s) damaged multiple trees by spray painting obscenities on them. The incident occurred in the 800 block of Marion Avenue, Highland Park, Illinois.

Police are investigating a report of a criminal damage to property. It was reported that sometime overnight possibly 11:30 p.m. on July 28, 2012; unknown person(s) threw a rock through a garage window causing it to break. A vehicle parked inside of the garage was also damaged. The incident occurred in the 200 block of St. Johns Avenue, Highland Park, Illinois.

Criminal damage to vehicle

Police are investigating a report of a criminal damage to vehicle. It was reported that sometime between July 27 at 4 p.m. and July 28 that unknown person(s) threw a brick through the rear drivers side window of a vehicle parked in the 200 block of St. Johns Avenue, Highland Park, Illinois.

Theft

Police are investigating a delayed report of a theft. It was reported that a wallet containing driver’s license, credit cards, a rebate check, cash and Monthly Metra pass was taken from an unsecured locker sometime between 3:45 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. on reported date. The incident occurred in the 100 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park.

Police are investigating a delayed report of a theft. It was reported that between 9:00 a.m. to 10:30a.m. on reporting date two wallets containing identification and credit cards were taken after a master lock was defeated with a bolt cutter off of a locker. The incident occurred in the 100 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park.

Police are investigating a delayed report of a theft. It was reported that unknown person(s) ripped 75 feet of copper piping from a vacant residence. Unknown date of theft as the residence has been vacant since November, 2010. The incident occurred in the 2300 block of Shady Lane, Highland Park.

Police are investigating a delayed report of a theft. It was reported that unknown person(s) removed an iPhone from a purse while shopping at the sidewalk sale. The incident occurred in the 500 block of Central Avenue, Highland Park.

Police are investigating a report of a theft. It was reported that after employees from a moving company were loading items into a truck for the resident, a silver tin jewelry box kept in a bedroom was found to be missing an undisclosed amount of cash. The incident occurred in the 200 block of St. Johns Avenue, Highland Park, Illinois.

Driving under the influence

Arthur Rowels, Jr., 35, of the 1200 block of West 97th Street, Chicago, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, driving while license suspended and speeding after being stopped by police in the 2600 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. Rowels, Jr. was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of August 10, 2012 at 18 North County Street, Waukegan, Illinois.

Nelson Steele, 28, of the 14400 block of Sheryllynn Drive, Wadsworth, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, improper lane usage and uninsured motor vehicle after being stopped by police in the 1900 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. Steele was released on a cash bond with a court date of August 24, 2012 at 18 North County Street, Waukegan, Illinois.

Possession of cannabis

Jeremy Ruthstein, 23, of the 500 block of Clavey Road, Highland Park, was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis after police responded to an anonymous report of a suspicious occupied vehicle parked in the 1900 block of Beverly Place, Highland Park. Ruthstein was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of August 22, at 301 Greenleaf Street, Park City, Illinois.

Ulises Silva, 20, of the 0-100 block of Louis, Waukegan, was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis and consumption of alcohol by minor after police responded to report from Community Policing Aides of several subjects with open alcohol near the intersection of Chatfield Drive and Omaha Street, Highland Park. Silva was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of September 12, 2012 at 301 Greenleaf Street, Park City, Illinois.

Consumption of alcohol by minor

Mark Vilichiz-Malit, 18, of the 2200 block of Linden Avenue, Waukegan and Jake Mortensen, 18, of the 2500 block of Sequoit, Waukegan were cited with administrative citations for consumption of alcohol by minor. Vilichiz-Malit and Jake Mortensen are both expected in Administrative Court at 1707 St. Johns Avenue, Highland Park on August 16, 2012.
