UPDATE: Flood Warning Issued for Lake County

Highland Park and Deerfield will experience flooding after Sunday's storm.

A flood warning has been issued for southern Lake County until 5:30 a.m. Monday morning, according to Weather Underground.

The National Weather Service in Chicago advices Lake County residents to exercise caution while driving, as most flood-related deaths occur in vehicles. Avoid streams and creeks. If you observe flash flooding, do not enter the water. Do not attempt to cross any water-covered bridges.

A severe thunderstorm "will likely increase in both intensity and coverage" as it moves from Iowa to Illinois "and will present a significant severe weather threat," reads the statement.

The storm isn't expected to reach northeast Illinois until shortly after noon. Once it does, damaging winds and large hail are possible.
